At the age of twenty, Carl DePaolo began his career in electronic distribution with Classic Component's New York office in 1987 as an account executive.   After a short but intense educational experience with one of the industry's leading independent distributors, Carl made his way to America EMG in West Babylon, New York in 1989.  Quickly identified as a valuable asset, Carl was invited to move to Florida with one of the owners of America EMG to help start America II Electronics in August of 1989.  After only a few months he moved from an account executive to management and played a key role in making America II Electronics one of the top five independent distributors in the country.

With his wife and Freedom partner Crystal DePaolo, they were ready to pursue their own dreams and went into partnership with James Brown, another America II rising star, and his wife Jodi Brown.  In 1999, the four partners founded Freedom Sales & Marketing, an independent stocking distributor of electronic components serving customers all around the world.  After several years of solid growth, they formed Freedom EMG (Excess Management Group), a distributor to distributor reseller of in-house stock as well as OEM excess and consignment.

Continued growth resulted in the partners making the decision in 2005 to purchase property and have a larger facility constructed to their specs.   The building was completed in late 2005 and the Freedom team began 2006 in their current location.  With more office and warehouse space available, Freedom immediately began hiring additional staff and purchasing additional inventory.

Presently, Freedom has a stable, experienced staff located in excellent facilities.  Their customer base is growing, as loyal customers continue to use Freedom as a primary source, while new customers experience the Freedom edge.  The stability of our staff along with a solid customer base provides Freedom with a steady revenue stream.  This revenue stream is important to our customers, as it ensures long-term viability as a supplier and allows Freedom to make more aggressive purchasing decisions.

The future of Freedom is yet to be written, but past growth and present stability point to a solid future.  While our current facilities are sufficient for the short term, the partners have purchased additional adjecant property to allow for expansion.  One of the guiding principles to the success of Freedom is the old motto "dance with the one that brought ya".  What that translates to is that component sales will always be at the heart of Freedom's business.  However, Freedom embraces change, constantly looking for opportunities to improve the quality of their products and services.  As customers demand extended or custom requirements from their suppliers, Freedom is uniquely positioned to meet those demands.
